*Middle Office Trade Support Administrator, Manchester- 12 months*

Asset Management Custodial Bank requires a competent Trade Support Administrator to join their Middle Office Client Service team in Manchester on an initial 12 month contract.

The Trade Support Specialist reports to the Supervisor and is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and/or settlement of security trades and where appropriate, cash transactions, on behalf of their assigned Middle Office clients. Tasks must be completed in accordance with client Service Level Agreements/Descriptions, established policies and procedures and in line with market practice and all exceptions accurately recorded, investigated, monitored and as necessary, escalated to ensure timely resolution.

The environment is fast paced and deadline driven. Strong communication skills and a confident nature are essential for this team.

Responsibilities

Trade Support and Settlements:

  • Trades are processed on the appropriate BNYM and/or Client systems in an accurate and timely manner, liaising with internal and external areas, as necessary. Trade types may include equities, fixed interest, unit trusts, foreign exchange, money markets, repos, stock lending, OTC/ETDs, options, etc..
  • Trades are confirmed with the brokers in a timely manner, with exceptions investigated, reported and resolved.
  • Timely and accurate transaction instructions are submitted to third party custodians, with exceptions closely monitored and resolved, escalating where appropriate.
  • Process all cash instructions, within the market currency deadlines where possible.
  • Monitor trade settlement and proactively resolve any potential fails, with particular focus on high value transactions, short settlement period trades and those in priority markets (ie buy-in and high penalty markets). This includes pre-matching trades where possible with timely resolution sought on all unmatched trades.
  • Thorough, accurate and timely investigation of any failing trades, escalating to the Supervisor where appropriate.
  • All outstanding queries related to pending corporate actions or cash and stock reconciliation items are actively resolved on a timely basis, documenting investigation steps and recognising and responding appropriately to areas of risk, escalating where necessary.
  • Timely and accurate production of reporting, both internal and external, and any special or ad hoc reporting.
  • Accurate and timely update and maintenance of broker and client static data.
  • Extensive daily liaison with internal operating areas as well as market counterparties, with thorough investigation, prompt resolution and communication of client inquiries and requests, escalating to the Supervisor, as required.

Client Support

  • Thorough investigation, prompt resolution and communication of client inquiries and requests.
  • Create customised/ad-hoc reports as required by the client and approved by the Supervisor.
  • Attend client meetings, when required.
  • Escalation of any non-standard client requests or proposed changes to procedures to the Supervisor to coordinate appropriate next steps.
