Description

Your challenge:

  • Maintain Production Equipment, Packaging Equipment, Auxiliary Equipment and the Facility in a manner that promotes operational readiness/excellence. Provide top tier service for internal and external customers. Exemplify Excellence in your day to day tasks and lead/promote BEST Health and Safety Behaviors in your work areas and throughout the site.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on various production equipment, packaging equipment and Auxiliary & facility equipment which may include working with engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, electro-mechanical systems, electrical power systems, compressed air systems, etc.; This will include following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Drives/Leads Health and Safety excellence.

Automation:

  • experience with programming/troubleshooting PLC's & HMI's, pneumatics, electro-mechanical, constructing control panels from schematics, ladder logic, etc.
  • Install equipment per mfg. specifications and perform Installation Qualifications.
  • Maintains good documentation practices with regards to equipment history, break down/failure trends, maintenance records, equipment readings/logs
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assists in the development of layouts or floorplans, tests and troubleshoots equipment, and documents procedures with the goal or improving operations.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Maintenance/EHS Field is a must.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Performs a variety of tasks and multitasks well.
  • Works under minimal supervision.
  • Reports to Maintenance/EHS Manager.
  • Follows blueprints, guidelines and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met.
  • Write Equipment Maintenance supporting documents.

Your Team:

  • The function of this position will serve (but is not limited to) Philips Oral Healthcare, Ontario CA site. This position will fall under site operations and report to the head of Maintenance/EHS department and Lead Mechanic.

  • Philips Oral Healthcare is offering a full time, Maintenance Tech II Position for the purpose of providing technical support to Maintenance/EHS Department to maintain operational readiness.

We are looking for

  • An individual with a minimum of 2-5 year's experience in Industrial Maintenance/Engineering field (Environmental Health & Safety experience is a plus)
  • An individual who is self-driven/motivated and exhibits Philips excellence qualities (eager to win, takes ownership and teams up to excel)
  • Candidate must have a valid CA Driver's License
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in an Engineering Discipline is a plus
  • Works well in a team, team contributor
  • Experience managing small projects
  • Computer skills to include:
    • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
    • Computerize Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
    • AutoCad is a plus
    • Solid Works is a plus
