Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer

Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer with KEY SKILLS is required to work on a 3-6 months contract (WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION) for our Defence client based in Basildon.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer based at its site in Basildon. The role will be supporting our Machined Component Centre (MCC), ensuring quality is driven in at the Front End of the manufacturing stages.

Overview of the Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer contract role

Working primarily within the Machined Component Centre (MCC), providing specialist Assurance support to the MCC Activities, ensuring all quality related issues are dealt with promptly in accordance with company best practices.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Focal point of contact for all MCC quality matters,
  • Manage Non-Conformances, driving through Effective Root Cause Corrective Action,
  • Quality Management oversight of MCC's second tier Supply Chain, via effective flow-down of quality requirements, surveillance audits and First Article Verification Activities,
  • Ensuring that quality requirements are articulated in Management Plans, Engineering Specifications, Drawings and ShopFloor Method Folders,

Conducting Internal Audits, ensuring compliance to the Business Management System

Key skills required for the Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer

  • Essential: Extensive practical experience working in a quality assurance/project assurance environment within a Machine Shop environment, preferably Defence Industry,
  • Essential: A detailed understanding of Machine Shop Practises, disciplines and machining techniques required for high precision manufacturing,
  • Essential: The management and conducting of First Article Verification Activities at component level,
  • Essential: An understanding of CNC Programming and CMM/Manual Inspection techniques and tooling,
  • Essential: Must be able to establish priorities, work independently and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
