Software Test Engineer

£35-£45 per hour
Role:
To introduce new techniques to match the company's state of the art communications products with a state of the art software testing capability. While primarily a software testing role, there may be some overlap with RF and hardware testing of these products.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a strategy for automated software testing of the company's range of products including Embedded and server-based software
Implement this strategy
Put processes in place to be followed on future product development ensuring test suite definition is independent of the product development team
Person Specification:
1st or Upper 2nd class degree in Software, Digital Communications or equivalent subject
Five years' experience of design and development of software test suites including the following:
oPC/Server software including HMI/Web interfaces
oEmbedded software including HMI/Web interfaces
oTesting of communications protocols
The candidate should have an understanding/experience of the following:
oSoftware design and development methodologies
oOperating systems (Linux, Windows)
oNetworks, network communications and network security
oEmbedded software development
oSoftware profiling (including code coverage)
Some experience of the following would be an advantage: National Instruments LabVIEW/Test Stand, C, C++ or C# languages
Good problem solving skills
Good communicator and planner
Ability to work on own initiative, innovative thinker
