Senior Cloud Software Engineer
6 months, 500€-600€ p/d - Antwerp
The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing new concepts in the IoT and Connected Home space based on cutting edge technologies. You will develop concepts to evaluate usecases and technologies.
You will build demonstrators to test concepts early in the market. Concepts will grow into customer trials and eventually to new solutions.
You act as the go-to person on cloud expertise within a small multidisciplinary team (4-7 people).
You will have a big say in the architecture and in the decision making of short term versus long term (productization of the idea) choices.
Defend your choices within the team (and other teams where applicable).
Coach junior developers in setting up and using the frameworks.
Experience
- In depth understanding and extensive development experience on Amazon Webservices: EMR (Spark), Alexa, Lambda, Kinesis, AWS IoT, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift, CloudFormation, IAM.
- Preferably experience in cloud native data processing/analytics technologies
- NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, ...), distributed file systems (HDFS...), Search technologies (Elastic Search)
- Programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, Scala
- DevOps: Chef, Docker, Gerrit, GIT, Jenkins and Artifactory
- Cloud infrastructure: Amazon AWS (Mandatory), GCE, Azure, OpenStack.
- Publish/Subscribe communication pattern and technologies
- Experience with one of the following messaging and queuing technologies: Kafka, Storm, Samza, MQTT, DDS, 0MQ, Redis...
- Cloud technologies: Zookeeper, Chef, YARN, Mesos, Docker, Netflix open source
- High availability, load balancing and fault tolerance architectures.
- Parallel and distributed computing.
Hands on experience with AWS and Open Source Technologies is vital.
