Description

Major functions:

  • Process and document claim requests.
  • Renew policies following agency standards; verify each renewal's accuracy and ensure that all renewals and necessary documents are produced as needed.
  • Process and verify policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
  • Maintain and update electronic and transactional files making every attempt to utilize the system to its fullest potential
  • Perform other tasks and duties as request or required to support the agency sales and service processes.
  • Manage expired and canceled files for the department and act as liaison for off-site storage.
  • Periodically provide switchboard relief as needed.
  • Request or process the following: binders, ID cards, Inspection forms, certification of insurance, premium breakdowns, paid receipts and carrier mail.
  • Maintain supply of all Company forms and order supplies as needed for your assigned companies.
  • File documents as needed and in accordance with department procedures
  • Handle non-pay and reinstatements according to department procedures.
  • Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara's Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements.
  • Respond to customer requests for service and questions regarding their policies in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Assist Service and Sales agents as needed with marketing policies to carriers.
  • Interface or request all New Business or changes to companies according to their procedures.

Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:

  • College education desirable or equivalent work experience.
  • NY State insurance broker's license.
  • Knowledge of personal lines insurance products preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, and to accurately perform simple calculations involving decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to utilize computer and understand functionality.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • High degree of self-discipline and motivation.
  • Satisfactory completion of agency testing requirements.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • NY State P & C License and Personal Lines experience.
