For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for a Ops Engineer (Windows, Linux, MS-SQL)
Profile
You are a driven IT specialist with excellent analytical skills. You are ambitious and you bring positive energy to the team.
You have very good social and communication skills.
You are proactive, feel a personal responsibility for the quality and constant improvement of your work.
You can work independently, you can coordinate others but you are also an excellent team player. You strive to continuously improve the applications you are responsible for, their reliability and business agility. You have worked with and understand multi-tier applications, and have strong knowledge of databases, operating systems and application servers.
You are familiar with the Agile methodologies and ITIL processes.
You have an excellent command of English, spoken and written.
The DevOps Team
At the client, DevOps teams use the Agile Scrum Methodology and Continuous Delivery / Continuous Improvement Engineering Practices. A DevOps team consists of two roles: Development Engineer and Operations Engineer. Collectively, the DevOps team has full responsibility for the Development, Deployment, Quality Assurance/Testing, Support and Operation of an application and its associated components and interfaces, forming part of a wider chain of applications that enables a customer to perform a transaction with the client. This is called a Customer Journey and is at the heart of everything we do.
Tasks
Understanding how your application fits into the overall chain(s) of systems that implement client's business processes, and working with your "chain neighbour" teams where necessary to improve reliability, efficiency, simplicity and eliminate waste.
Make sure your applications are up and running at good performance. In order to achieve this you implement automated tests and monitoring of your application but also the entire technology stack on which the application is running.
Run daily checks, implement changes and solve incidents and problems
Identifying IT related risks, feeling ownership for addressing and resolving them while creating overall awareness.
Creating, and executing Operational Excellence Tests (e.g. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Tests).
Understanding the security aspects of your application while making sure that the agreed Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability ratings are met. In order to minimize the need for usage of high-privileged accounts on production, you automated deployments as much as possible.
Required Skills
Good foundation knowledge of the complete stack (Windows, Linux, MS-SQL, networks)
Proven experience in implementing automated tests, automated deployments and monitoring
Knowledge of the FCRM application or the Anti-Money Laundering domain is an advantage.
