Description

A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as an Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor for their offshore wind farm project.

The Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor will be required to:

Perform day-to-day supervision of electrical installations to ensure quality and progress. Control that tests are carried out according to the requirements and documented. Ensure safe work environment. Assist the commissioning manager in planning, implementation and documentation of the installation, supervision and commissioning process within the assigned technical area, such as but not limited to LV/MV, HV, and SCADA.

This is a 6 ½ month role to start from 15 November 2016 up until the 31st May 2017 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. Working hours will be 5 days per week, 8hrs on average, weekend work should be expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Take part in the review, preparation and coordination of detailed commissioning schedules.
  • Perform day-to-day supervision and management of the installation/commissioning; personnel/contractors assigned.
  • Take part in the witnessing of FAT, depending on schedule.
  • SAT - report deviations/troubles to the package manager of the equipment.
  • Take an active part of the SIT test especially by supporting protection and test engineers.
  • Participate in the preparation of snag lists.
  • Cooperate to control that all HSE procedures are implemented.
  • Ensure installation quality is in accordance with the client's standard.
  • Carry out tests on electrical equipment when necessary.
  • Monitor and document performance test of sub-systems.
  • Ensure that the necessary safety signs/notices, barriers and other safety measures are implemented on a day-to day basis during commissioning.
  • Report to O&M Facilities Construction Manager in matters to do with the O&M Facilities.
  • Take part and manage toolbox meetings, coordinate and document the commissioning work within the defined technical area.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years experience of relevant project experience.
  • Minimum 4 years. experience in LV systems, utility systems and cable works in terms of installation and commissioning, general knowledge of electrical equipment and installation techniques and a minimum of 4 years experience onshore substations.
Educations:
  • Commissioning engineer or skilled electrician.
  • Training: WAH, IOSH Managing safety and NG CP.

Special Provisions:

  • The Consultant must bring his/her own PC with MS Office 2007 software and mobile telephone.
  • Offshore works the Consultant would be required to bring his/her own PPE equipment.
