Role Profile

Our Public Sector client based in Swansea is currently recruiting for a Cloud application Developer. Our client's Software Engineering Capability is looking for highly skilled developers to undertake the development and support of applications both internal and public/customer facing. The successful individuals will work as part of a flexible software delivery team working in a variety of styles including Agile. In order to support the pipeline of work the level of in house expert knowledge needs to be supplemented in order to continue support the delivery of the pipeline and enablement of the in-house team.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Experience in domain driven design concepts and their implementation
  • Extensive experience working on projects using open source technology within cloud hosted/virtualised environments; AWS preferred
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and ensure knowledge transfer to in-house development teams
  • Experience building scalable Server Side web applications and scaling high volume web services
  • Detailed knowledge of the Java programming language
  • Experience working with version control systems
  • Experience of exposing APIs using REST
  • Experience of integrating with external systems using REST
  • Experience working in a continuous integration environment with tools such as Jenkins and Ansible
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems
  • Extensive experience in the implementation of event sourcing patterns
  • Knowledge of JavaScript libraries
  • System administration and configuration management skills
  • Experience presenting work at user groups and agile ceremonies communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Establish and drive team discussions to learn from experience and adapt organisational processes and plans
  • Experience implementing monitoring solutions for developed services
