Qualifications

Exceptional relational database knowledge (eg SQL Server/DB2 database)

Proven ability to mine data and derive business value

Knowledge of VB.NET, C#.NET and the .NET Frameworks would be desirable

Knowledge of Java EE and Web Application Frameworks would be preferable

Knowledge of Hadoop, HBase and NoSQL databases would be preferable

Understanding of AngularJS would be preferable

Knowledge of Sharepoint would be preferable

Knowledge of Pentaho would be preferable

Experience of an agile development framework and software life cycle tools is desirable

Strong communication skills are essential and we are looking for someone who takes an innovative approach to creating technology solutions

A level of domain expertise in Fund Accounting and/or Depository Services would be a further advantage

Description

The client is a leading provider of financial services for institutions, corporations and high-net-worth individuals, providing superior asset management and wealth management, asset servicing, issuer services, clearing services and treasury services through a worldwide client-focused team. Overview of the Team: The Risk and Compliance team are responsible for Regulatory and Compliance products, with our 2016 focus upon UCITS V, Investor Money Regulations (IMR), Common Reporting Standards (CRS) and UK CDOT (Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories), along with the ongoing support of AIFMD (the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive). We are also responsible for the Asset Servicing instances of the Charles River Compliance Monitor product, plus support a number of Legacy EMEA specific accounting solutions which remain technology differentiators for key clients in the region. This application technology specialist position is to join a small dedicated technical team working to continue to leverage and enhance our suite of internal technology products to meet ongoing and evolving regulatory requirements and/or targeting client specific needs within EMEA. We are looking for a senior developer with strong architectural skills to help us deliver and optimise upon these opportunities.

The Role: Specialist Developer Responsibilities:

Provides application software development services or technical support in more complex situations.

May also be responsible for requirements gathering and BRD/SRD preparation.

May be required to allocate and coordinate work within a team/project, working predominantly with a remote team located offshore.

Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using The client's standard development methodology.

Designs and prototypes solutions in line with our organisation's digital philosophy and overall architecture.

This ideally includes the ability to design and develop APIs for new service delivery.

Has a strong understanding of end-to-end operation flows across multiple system applications, a thorough understanding and experience with Software Development Life Cycle processes and methodologies, demonstrable project management and leadership skills, and a good understanding of application architecture.

Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications.

Coordinates coding, testing, implementation and documentation of solution.

Ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved.

Work in an agile manner, based on iteration and customer-centric design

Champion the company's digital capabilities and work with relevant parties to successfully integrate into The client delivery 'factories'

Build relationships and work collaboratively with wider technology team globally, leveraging company capabilities across our geographies in line with CTS strategy

Mentor and guide our offshore technology teams

Have the ability to challenge and prioritize the business and client requirements to drive solution optimization, revenue generation, speeding time-to-market and phasing of these multi-year complex initiatives.

Contributes to defining time tables and project plans.

Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs.

Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.

Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions.

*To work in Poland you will have to work via a local/complaint umbrella solution to declare your taxed there.

Retention to you is between 70%-80%. (so between 20/30% tax!)
