Who the specialist will work with - Work across 2 cross functional Agile teams, closely with User Researcher, Designers and Product Owner
What the specialist will work on
Usability testing,test moderation, analysis, report writing
In-house research testing new product and concept developments
Working with designers/developers to turn user data into actionable product/service requirements feeding into prototype development.
Designing/Scripting/analysing ad-hoc quantitative surveys
Managing ad-hoc qualitative/quantitative research: proposition development, visual identity, customer experience mapping
Applying knowledge in human factors, ethnography, user-centred design process to product and service design.
Use analytics to deliver continuous improvement
Presenting findings/business recommendations/customer insights to senior decision makers Promoting user centred design principles and best practice within government aligned to GDS.
Essential skills and experience
- In-depth understanding and demonstrable experience in user-centred design principles and tools and product development
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience and/or degree in the relevant field
- Ability to work with users and stakeholders at all levels
- Experience and/or degree in the relevant field.
- Proven experience of managing, executing and analysing usability test sessions
- Proven experience of working in an agile development environment with User Experience teams, directly with Design, Software, Content and Product to create new digital products and services
- Experience of audience modelling and developing design personas
- Full understanding and demonstrable experience in indirect data collection techniques such as web traffic analytics
