Description

A Renewable Energy client is looking for an Offshore Environmental Manager.

The Offshore Environmental Manager will support the discharge of offshore marine licence conditions for their offshore wind farm projects, to manage the environmental requirements and interface with package engineers and contractors to ensure compliance with consents. This will be a 8 ½ month freelance contract position to commence 15th November 2016 up until approx. 31st July 2017 with the possibility of extending further thereafter.
This is a full time role working 5 days a week, 8 hrs in average.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the production of the Environmental
  • Impact Assessment (EIA)
  • Drive the management of surveys and studies
  • Preparation of environmental information
  • Ensure compliance with preconditions of consents
  • Responsible for specific external stakeholders

Tasks:

  • Prepare part or all of necessary environmental documentation related to EIA according to applicable law and guidelines
  • Incorporate the approved project design envelope, O & M and decommissioning requirements into the EIA
  • Communicate obligations following EIA process and ensure mutual agreement with internal project interfaces
  • Define scope of surveys and studies, procure and manage consultancy services for EIA and other monitoring activities
  • Manage compliance with internal requirements and processes in contract management including HSE and quality
  • Keep updated on environmental policies, guidance, and key stakeholder initiatives and representing the projects interest within those initiatives
  • Prepare and review of documentation needed for compliance and authority sign-off consent conditions (monitoring, fisheries agreements etc)
  • Engage & provide input for consent variation applications with authorities eg. On noise restrictions, protected species
  • Manage specific stakeholders including statutory and non-statutory stakeholders (nature conservation, shipping & navigation, fisherman, aviation, government agencies etc)
  • Primary internal stakeholder, technical leads, site & land rights, HSE manager
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years experienceMSc or BSc in technical, environmental science or environmental engineering, Marine Science
  • Recommended some years post graduate experience
  • Recommended Chartered Environmentalist, IEMA Fellow or similar professional qualification

Special Provision:
The Consultant must bring his/her PC with MS Office 2007 software and mobile telephone
The Consultant must have his/her own PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
