Commercial Manager - 9 months Contract - Newport
SC Clearance preferred however Client will consider clearable candidates.
A leading Client of Modis is looking for a Commercial Manager who will be supporting the nominated senior Commercial Manager with commercial and contractual aspects of the allocated customer-facing product and services contracts (focus on export contracts) including the introduction of new products/services as well as contract renewals.
The Commercial Manager will be involved in the implementation and management of Agreements, managing contracts databases, being the focal point for general commercial queries as required.
As the Commercial Manager you will manage existing contracts in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements, to ensure efficient and accurate performance of commercial activities and prompt payment of invoices.
Commercial Manager Primary Duties:
- Develop rapport/relationship with customers to assist in the prompt progression of orders and payment of invoices
- Act as the main commercial point of contact on specified contracts for the customer arranging meetings and discussions as required to ensure the smooth operation of these contracts over the concession period
- Work closely with project and service delivery managers to ensure commercial risks highlighted and mitigated
- Liaise with the Project/Bid Manager to establish the nature of new contract/service requirements, manage commercial aspects of the bid activities, prepare bid and vet paperwork, negotiate terms and conditions of subsequent contracts (where applicable) and manage all aspects of the pursuant contract, including change notices and so on
- Work with the Procurement organisation to advise on key contractual obligations and risks in Prime contract and ensure flow down and mitigation accordingly
- Provide a commercial service to other personnel within the company, including the implementation of Non-Disclosure Agreements, the provision of commercial advice and assistance with profitable solutioneering
- Work with the Finance department in the creation of accurate vet material and offer letters and attend tender vets for programmes of responsibility
- Ensure that commercial risks are identified and minimised or offset where possible on nominated contracts/programmes
Commercial Manager Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential:
- Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks and use initiative
- Ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and with attention to detail
- Ability to operate at all levels, both internally and external customer facing, travelling between the client, customer and supplier sites as required (Predominately UK, with some travel to France and Germany as required)
- Good interdepartmental interface skills
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Good planning and organisational skills
