Description
Advantage Resourcing is seeking a Senior AIX UNIX Systems Engineer for a Public Sector based in Glasgow. This is initially 5- 6 months contract and the rate is circa £350-£450/day (Ltd). This role may require SC level security clearance therefore you must be willing and able to undergo the clearance process if you don't already hold SC.
For submission candidates will be requested right to work documentation (passport/visa details) and offers will be subject to relevant credit, criminality and reference checks.
Essential Experience:
*Working knowledge of UNIX Solaris Systems and Solaris Administration
*Strong Experience in deployment and management of AIX enterprise infrastructure with an extensive track record implementing large, complex enterprise-class solutions using Unix/Linux technologies
*Significant experience in one or more of the following virtualization/application delivery platforms: IBM PowerVM, IBM PowerHA, AIX System Administration, AIX Performance and Tuning and Experience in designing complex, distributed systems
*Extensive skills with networking, VIOS, HMC and server security
*Excellent Scripting skills in a variety of languages (eg ksh, bash, Perl etc.)
*Advanced networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, Firewalls, network security)
*Ability to design infrastructure to achieve high levels of availability
*Expert understanding of software development and infrastructure project life cycles
