Senior Network Engineer
12 Weeks Contract
£55 per hour (including holiday pay)

Key Responsibilities:
The key skillsets are recent Palo Alto and Cisco experience
- Business Units: UKIO, M&G, M&G RE, GHO, Corporate Property (UK), PGDS (UK)
- Data Centre, LAN & WAN (Cisco/Arista)
- VPN Technologies (Cisco ASA)
- Load Balancing Services (Citrix NetScaler)
- All Firewall Infrastructure (PaloAlto & CheckPoint)
- BlueCoat Security Gateway infrastructure (Including Proxy AV)
- Cisco Wireless network infrastructure.
- Core operational Servers including AAA, ISE Server & Prime
- Network Management Servers including Solarwinds, Riverbed OPNET
- UK Data Centre networks
- US Data Centre networks
Key Responsibilities
- Be seen as a key individual within the PGDS UK Network domain team for designing and technically delivery projects for the aforementioned business units.
- Work closely with the PGDS Project Management team to technically deliver projects to agreed timescales
- Work closely with the Network Operations and Support team to carry out a quality/timely formal handover of project deliveries.
- Provide assistance, support and training where appropriate to less experienced members of the Network domain team to help develop their skills and knowledge.
- Ensure that the change management process is adhere to at all times, represent changes at relevant CAB meetings & provide support to less experienced team members in attendance.
- Produce and update network documentation and CMDB relating to network systems that are impacted by a project delivery
- Review documentation produced by less experienced members of the team and provide input and advice where appropriate.
- Produce detailed change plans and co-ordinate change implementation.
- Provide input into and produce where necessary, project plans for both business and PGDS driven projects.
- Maintain excellent technical knowledge and be seen as an expert in the networks arena.
- Identify and drive out process improvement activities.
- Perform out of hours change activities where the job demands.
- Liaise at a detailed technical level with other PGDS Domains where appropriate to ensure cross domain projects are delivered in an effective manner.
- Work with the Network Platform Managers within Network Solutions & Delivery, contributing to Network Strategy and identifying any Commercial Opportunities.
- Ensure all PGDS administrative activities are undertaken as required for example, timesheets.
- Undertake all activities required to address and resolve P1 and P2 incidents as requested by the Operations and Support Manager. Including where appropriate, the delivery of any ensuing incident review actions.
Multi-Skilled across the Network space
- At least 7 years of experience designing, implementing and documenting solutions in a complex networking environment.
- Excellent network technical design and hands on technical delivery experience across a wide range of network technologies.
Proven detailed knowledge of at least three of the following technologies:
- PaloAlto (Including Layer 4-7)
- BlueCoat (Proxy GW and Proxy AV)
- CheckPoint
- Citrix Netscaler
- Cisco Catalyst
- Cisco ASA
- Cisco Nexus
