Description
A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Geoscience Construction Manager to work on their offshore wind farm project in the UK. The Geoscience Construction Manager should be able to start this 6 month freelance contract 1st December up until approx. 31st May 2017 with the possibility to extend further thereafter. This will be a full time role working 5 days per week, 8 hrs in average a day. The Geoscience Construction Manager must be prepared for extensive travel.Responsibilities:
- Generation of technical scopes of work, tender process, post award project administration, execution of surveys, QA/QC, re-use of existing data for other applications (eg environmental and engineering, etc.)
- Standardisation of geodetic parameters, survey methodologies and as-built documentation between packages.
- Establish and maintain RTK-service.
- Regular site presence during execution phase, and also close out reporting and integration into technical packages.
- Front-load acceptance of O&M and OFTO to speed up process.
- Provide expertise on ground conditions.
- Authorship of documentation to be integrated into consent applications.
- Clarifications of installation methods for export and inter-array cable, including plough trial.
- Assisting the export cable package manager during the HDD and cable installation process.
- Technical management of pre, during and post installation surveys.
- Technical input to scour monitoring surveys.
- Review of project documentation, method statements etc.
- Review of reporting and deliverables.
- Attendance to kick-off meetings.
- Site attendance throughout execution phase for QA/QC and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years survey experience and good project management skills.
- MSc or other relevant degree.
- Geophysical Engineer or similar with experience in marine geoscience and offshore construction work.
Special Provisions:
The Consultant must bring his/her own PC with MS Office 2007 software or newer and mobile telephone.
Onshore and offshore works: The Consultant would need to bring his/her own PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
