Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Madison, WI

Duration: 7 Months (Possibility for Extension)

Description:

This position is part of a 6 person team that manages DHS' 5400+ Windows-based computers. This position creates softwaredeployment packages and manages endpoint security of all DHS network connected computers. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Software Engineer capabilities with 4-7 years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Remote Desktop Management Tools & Remote desktop support tools (RDP, SCCM, etc.).
  • Experience supporting a large customer base (2000+ employees) working in multiple locations.
  • Automated Software Deployment Methodology.
  • Desktop Management (LANDesk, SCCM, etc.).
  • Experience creating transforms, custom actions, and user profile settings for new or existing applic.
  • Experience using software tools like AdminStudio and InstallShield
  • Desktop Management Systems - LANDesk/SCCM - Patching/Software Deployment
  • Scripting - Winbatch, VBScript, AutoIT, PowerShell, DOS Batch, etc..
  • Security Tools & Concept Knowledge (Desktop, Virus, remediation, etc.)
  • MS Windows 7/Windows 10 - System Configuration/Upgrade.
  • Experience packaging applications into MSI format using Flexera AdminStudio, Wise Package Studio, In.
  • Experience repackaging of commercial and/or internally created software into MSIs for deployment to.
  • Experience with compatibility testing of MSI packages including identifying and resolving conflicts.
  • Knowledge of VMware Workstation, Microsoft VPC or similar product.
