Commercial Financial Analyst, Management Accounting, Warwick, 6 months

Major Midlands based Utilities company is looking to appoint a fully qualified Commercially focused Financial Analyst to work on a change project at my clients offices in the midlands, the role is for an initial 6 months

The focal point of the role is to to compile and produce monthly financial performance reporting on the Transitional Service Agreements (TSA) two elements of the businesses operations. You will be accountable for managing the TSA commercial management processes of purchasing, invoicing and commercial review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for collating the forecasts for TSAs/RTSAs with Rate cards and the charges for TSAs/RTSAs with fixed charges and drafting purchase order requisitions for review with the TSA Account Manager (as supplier)
  • Responsible for raising the purchase orders on receipt of purchase order requisitions (as customer)
  • Responsible for coordinating with business support teams to document the billing data, seeking approvals from the TSA Account Manager and confirming to the business support teams to process invoices
  • Responsible for undertaking the commercial review process to track variance in the service volumes and initiating change requests on confirmation from the TSA Account Manager
  • Responsible for helping the Change Manager and other TSA roles in the commercial impact assessment for the change requests
  • Responsible for coordinating with Finance and Legal teams to incorporate approved commercial changes and re-baseline the forecasted service charges
  • Responsible for providing financial management information for the TSAs to the TSA Governance forums
  • Use analytical review and quality checks to ensure data integrity. Investigate anomalies and propose appropriate renditions.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency quality and accuracy across all relevant data sources.
  • Analyse complex management information and recommending decisions based upon fact.

Key Attributes:

  • Experience and understanding office systems including SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to analyse information and make decisions/assist the decision making process.
  • Commercial focus - good understanding of cost and value drivers.
  • Must be able to work independently and to be effective in planning and managing activities across multiple communities, under pressure, with have an aptitude for driving issues through to appropriate resolution.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to connect with people at all levels of the business and across multiple business units to influence stakeholders' to align with business objectives [Demonstrate tact and diplomacy].
  • Excellent organisation, administrative and communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Successful candidates will:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA,CIMA,ACCA).
  • Excellent organisational skills and a self-motivated deliverer - able to manage own work to deadlines.
  • Experience of managing a change control process and compliance.
  • Experience of utilizing large Excel models to collate, allocate and verify financial report outputs.
  • Have relevant experience that has required analytic skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of problem and conflict resolution with multiple stakeholders.
