Description
We're looking for someone to help improve and expand our core user interface product by building inviting and enjoyable E-commerce experiences. First and foremost, we're looking for amazing developers. We don't just want someone to build it, we want someone with great ideas who enjoys sharing, and learning from others. We want you to have fun while working with us, and to build that enjoyment into the software itself. You have an expert knowledge of coding with HTML, CSS and Javascript, and the necessary skills to help us create large-scale, responsive websites for all devices and browsers. As a senior UI developer you have experience leading teams, ensuring that all requirements are met while at the same time providing support and mentorship to our other UI developers.
The UI Consultant your responsibilities will include but will not be exclusive to:
- Leading UI project development teams, ensuring projects ships on time, on budget, with the highest quality of code
- Develop standards compliant and well formatted CSS, Javascript and HTML
- Own client user stories; appropriately estimate and distribute among team members
- Provide well thought out code reviews, to ensure our coding standards are met
- Work directly with Clients, offering helpful advice and suggestions with a positive attitude
- Contribute and shape our React.js and Angluar.js capabilities
- Drive our test driven development capabilities
- Stay ahead of the curve on Front End technology and development trends in the industry
- Provide product input and influence across the technology stack.
- collaborating with design teams to deliver world class web experiences
- Working with maintainable and scalable CSS, for example OOCSS & BEM
- Working with Modular Javascript frameworks such as Require.js, Browserify, webpack etc.
- Solving compatibility issues in less efficient browsers
- Use the latest ES6 syntax within our products
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A proven UI development background using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
- Worked comfortably with command-line interpreters (Terminal)
- Experienced in test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD)
- Experience debugging complex apps with in browser debugging tools
- Solid experience with Javascript SPA (single page application) framework such as (React, Angular, Backbone, Knockout, Ember
- Experience with version control tools, such as GIT
Technically, you will have:
- In-deph knowledge of Javascript (thorough understanding of OO principles, modular architecture, and common design patterns)
- Expert knowledge of HTML5 and writing semantic markup
- Expert knowledge of CSS and experience implementing responsive grid systems, OOCSS, BEM, SMACSS or similar structured methodology
- The ability to write clean, reusable code
- Use best practices for optimising Javascript code
