Fibre Design & Planning Manager/Design and Permit Manager - Dublin, Ireland - Mobile Telecoms - Initial 6 Month contract
A global mobile telecoms company is searching for a Fibre Design and Planning Manager to join their team in Dublin on a contract basis.
Role:
- Leading all fibre design activities and provide technical expertise on all aspects of fibre design and planning
- Assist with pre-sales activities focused on passive fibre network design and deployment projects
- Drive operational readiness activities
- Liaising with customers
- Assisting field and project teams
- Manage internal and third party teams to produce high quality designs of HFC, FTTX and B2B networks for underground and aerial networks
- Manage project demand and resources
- Responsible for new build, customer connections, network upgrades, diversionary works and customised solutions
- Continued driving of improvement in costs, timescales and quality

Technical Requirements:
- Experience of fixed and cable operator fibre design, including detailed knowledge of working on GPON, FTTX and HFC networks
- Established network within the fibre services industry (supplier and customer)
- Excellent understanding of fibre network architectures and network topology
- Strong design experience and usage of design, survey and inventory applications (ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, Smallworld, Gcomms, Network Engineer etc)
- Excellent knowledge of FTTx topology, including mixed networks with GPON, G.FAST, VDSL, HFC, DOCSIS
- Extensive experience with Permit draftings/drawings, HLD, LLD and As-Built Engineering
- Experience conducting quality control of fibre engineering designs
- Experience of managing OSP design engineers
- Solid understanding of OSP network design key drivers affecting cost in OSP network rollouts
- Profound understanding of customer challenges within fibre network domain
- Ability to gain confidence with customer
- Site Survey experience
