What are we looking for?
For the Trading Risk Projects team, we are looking for a senior Java specialist who wants to work in a change management environment and who has the drive and capabilities to deliver value for the Market and Trading Risk stakeholders.
Job description
The senior Java specialist operates in a small scrum team and has a primary focus on the development, implementation and support of Java applications, to manage and perform market risk management related activities.
The scrum team provides technical support of measures, controls and calculation of market risk and the profit & loss of the Financial Markets books.
The delivery of application functionality, as well as system enhancements is done in small intervals of bi-weekly sprints, whereas teamwork, as well as coordination and communication with the internal stakeholders and customers is key.
Besides working on value for customers, new and changing regulatory requirements and technological developments also initiate innovation of market risk tools, calculation methods and reporting activities.
Your work environment
The Trading Risk Projects team is part of the CB TOM value stream of the Risk Services / Information & Change Management Department. The Information & Change Management Department provides integrated, enterprise wide risk management solutions to empower their customers, such as: CRO domains, Business lines, Value chains and the CB Network.
The primary focus of the Trading Risk Project team is on market risk management domain.
Market risk is the risk of losses in positions runs from movement in market prices, caused by (unexpected) events, such as: natural disasters, recessions, political turmoil, changes in interest rates and terrorist attacks.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and expertise:
- HBO / Academic level of education;
- Solid general IT-knowledge;
- Expert Java knowledge (> 5 years enterprise Java and > 2 years enterprise Spring/Hibernate);
- Experience with GUI/Web Interfaces (preferably JSF);
- Understanding of Unix/Linux, Tomcat, Unit Testing/Maven/automated deployment and OracleSQL & PL/SQL;
- AngularJS experience is advantageous;
- Good understanding of Market Risk methodologies, practices, regulations and FM products;
- Strong analytical and statistical skills.
- You are a team player, with good communication skills (fluent in English) and experience in working in an agile environment and in scrum teams.
- You understand and support the scrum practices and are familiar with the roles and responsibilities of a Scrum Master, Agile Coach and (Chief) Product Owner.
