Software Configuration Engineer (WebSphere & DB2)
Role:
The engineer will perform execution tasks to support the Delivery Department and maintenance tasks as well as monitoring/analysis in relation to performance and stability.
Tasks:
Provision environments for the different projects within the TOS suite, on Infrastructure in Antwerp and subsequently Singapore
- Intake, Test, Integration
- Integration with the development setup of the outsourcing partners
Streamline tooling with tools for the current TOS Suite, which is governed by the Configuration Management Team.
GTOS Infrastructure project: collaborate on the environments on the infrastructure in Singapore
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves complex software/hardware matters pertaining to Middleware infrastructure applications to meet business needs
- Performs maintenance and upgrades of existing Middleware systems in accordance with organizational standards to maintain operational stability of the system. Investigate and resolve matters of significance
- Ensures stable performance for Middleware infrastructure components, undertakes performance monitoring/analysis, identifies and resolves bottlenecks.
- Provides technical guidance in areas of expertise to less experienced team members.
- (Optionally) Participates in a 24/7 on call support role
Technical Skills:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in an system administrator role:
- With IBM WebSphere Application Server
- With DB2 LUW (preferably AIX)
- Proficient technical understanding of web and Application Server technologies required
- Core technical proficiencies will be: administration of IBM WebSphere Application Sever, IBM HTTP Server and other related technologies.
- Experience in working in a Unix environment
- Demonstrated understanding of Scripting and automation methodology as well as experience with Unix Shell and Scripting.
- Working knowledge of HTPP/S protocol standards
- Working knowledge of SSL and SSL certificate management
Broad Technical Background
- Operating Systems: AIX//IBMi
- Database knowledge of DB2 on LUW and IBMi environments (WAS/DB2 tuning)
- JEE application Servers:
- Developer skills: familiarity with the Java programming language and common Java specifications
- Scripting skills: eg. Jython
- Automation tooling experience
- Continuous Integration Tools (Jenkins)

- Assist in knowledge transfer towards the current members of the Configuration Management team
