Description

Oracle DBA (RAC, Golden Gate, SQL, 11g)

Oracle DBA is required by Whitehall Resources on a 6 month initial contract to be based in Dublin. The successful candidate will have proven experience in Oracle 9i, 10g/11g/Oracle RAC on SUSE Linux, AIX, Solaris and Windows platforms.

The successful candidate will be required to -
Perform capacity planning including allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements.
Create and execute scripts for various database maintenance activities.
Provide guidelines for development and production.
Perform database tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimising performance of the databases
Develop archival, backup and recovery strategy.
Plan, perform and monitor database backups.
Perform database recoveries.
Provide 24x7 on call production support.
Capable of supporting and implementing technology projects as the primary DBA in support of business initiatives

Key Skills
Experience as Oracle DBA (Oracle 9i, 10g/11g/Oracle RAC) on SUSE Linux, AIX, Solaris and Windows platforms.
Experience of Oracle Database upgrades/patching/migrations
Backup and recovery with RMAN
Data replication with Oracle data guard (Physical standby)
Data replication with Oracle Golden Gate
Oracle RAC administration/backup recovery/performance troubleshooting
Oracle Database Upgrade, DB Migration, DB Clone, DB Refresh activities.
Oracle Database installation and Oracle RAC installation, configuration, support.
Database Design, creation, Database Estimation/Sizing, Licensing.
Very good SQL and Shell Scripting knowledge with the ability to provide troubleshooting for performance issues and performance tuning.
OEM configuration and troubleshooting
Management of database resources (assignment of table spaces, space in HD, update system parameters, etc.).
