Description
Our client, one of the world leaders in providing international communication connectivity and services (including the Service Layer over the IP/MPLS backbone & Access Network and deep integration of the services into the company DataCenters), is looking for an IP Service Network Engineer.
YOUR MAIN TASKS:
oDesign, test and implement technical solutions based on business and operational requirements, taking into account recent technology evolutions and aligned with Network Architect and company guidelines.
oGenerates methods of implementation, procedures and technical documentation regarding delivered solutions to be used by the various operational departments, performs operational hand-over of the delivered solution. This covers all relevant documentation aspects (eg Network diagrams)
oEnsures that the underlying service network & systems are rightfully dimensioned
oManages the system's software & hardware life cycle
What TECHNICAL SKILLS do you need to have?
-Engineering Degree with an experience of minimum 5 years in the Telecom service network industry. This position is not relevant for candidates having only operational experience.
-Expert knowledge of (must have practical experience)
oIPv4 standard Routing protocols (in particular BGP & MP-BGP)
oOveral MPLS concepts, MPLS Layer 2 & Layer3 VPN (practical experience is must have for L3 VPN), 6(v)PE (Cisco 7k6 or Alcatel SR 7750)
oCisco Nexus 5k Switched network environments (Fabric Path, QinQ, (rapid) Spanning tree variants, 802.3ad)
-Very good understanding on general MNO (Mobile Network Operator) architecture and particularly Packet Core (3G/4G - EPC)
Understanding on roaming concepts and architecture. Practical experience with underlying Packet Core protocols is a strong asset (GTP, Diameter, Sigtran stack or DNS)
Understanding of IP-Security best practices, familiarities with Firewall configuration principles
-Additional knowledge (considered as strong assets)
F5 Load Balancer & Firewall configurations
IPv6
Large Service Provider Carrier Networks architectures
Familiarities with Datacenter network architectures
QoS design and configurations
-Required Hands on experience with following platforms
Nexus 5k
Cisco High-End Routers (7600/ASR1k) and/or ALCATEL SR Routers (7750)
Cisco ME3400, ASR920
