Description

My client is a market leader in its industry. The largest club in the Netherlands with an annual turnover of 1 billion euros. What happens when a market leader decides to bring the development back in house? They start looking for building up new teams!

Would you like to be part of building the future for this company and their mobile development? With more than 9 apps, this company aims to serve their 4,3 million members.

Their ambition is to bring the development of all that apps in house until the end of next year. Some of the apps have been developed by external companies, others will be developed in the near future. To be able to achieve a uniform look of all the apps, the company will strive to create a framework with standard components.

You will be:

  • developing, testing and maintaining new and existing native apps
  • translating user requirements into technical possibilities
  • Applying methodologies, application standards, best practices and design patterns
  • contribute to innovation and quality

Requirements:

  • You love technology and naturally stay up-to-date on relevant new developments.
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in creating high scalability mission-critical applications.
  • You are able to develop efficient and maintainable code with the right balance between solving the problem at hand and not over-engineering your solution.
  • You have real world OO design experience and knowledge of design patterns, combined with an ability to succinctly convey design information using suitable tools (eg the UML, BPMN).
  • Excellent knowledge of Java and Android SDK and a minimum of 3 years of solid experience with the Android platform.
  • Knowledge of other modern OO languages especially Java, Kotlin, developing in Android, while not mandatory, will be greatly valued.
  • Good knowledge OS fundamentals with the ability to apply it in the context of modern operating systems (eg Linux, OS X, Windows Server ).
  • A working knowledge of JavaScript and WEB 2.0 applied in the context of Hybrid mobile development using frameworks such as PhoneGap or Titanium is big nice-to-have.
  • Even though not mandatory, experience with at least one modern Scripting language (eg python, ruby, etc.)
  • You have sound knowledge of relational databases (eg Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc). Knowledge of NoSQL datastores, while not mandatory, is a strong nice-to-have.

Project location is in Den Haag, minimum of 3 months, possible extension.
