SQL Server DBA || Finance || Contract || Bangalore
A Global financial organisation is looking to hire a SQL DBA to help with BAU work during a large scale transformation/migration programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimizations on existing systems and performance tuning
- Support the production systems
- Plan replication solutions for SQL Server 2014
- Setup Auditing policies
- Plan and execute SQL Server upgrades and consolidations
- Install, monitor and support advanced functions of Database Management Systems and related applications directly or with the team;
- Will be assigned responsibility for advanced technical issues in the environment for problem resolution;
- Diagnose and repair database issues working closely with system administration teams for all database Servers
- Define, monitor, optimize and trouble shoot performance of all database systems managed within Corporate Technology
Key Skills
- 5+ years working as a SQL Server DBA
- Deep knowledge of SQL Server
- TSQL, SSIS and Replication knowledge
- Microsoft Certification (Advantage)
- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL (Advantage), ETL tools (Advantage), large and high scale database
- Extensive Database Consultant/Administrator working in a fast paced, dynamic environment;
- Vendor agnostic approach to database design and implementation
- Demonstrable knowledge and use of Reporting and Integration services (SSIS, SSRS) across SQL Platforms
- Demonstrable Experience designing, architecting database solutions.
- Use of database Scripting languages ie TSQL
- Ability to design and create adhoc queries based on user requests
- Demonstrable knowledge of security for databases and Active Directory
- Strong Communication skills - ability to translate user desires into database solutions
- Knowledge of Linux would be an advantage;
- Experience in maintaining database systems in enterprise class data centre environments.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver across a number of projects running in parallel
