SQL Server Database Administrator
A SQL Server Database Administrator is urgently required for a long-term, lucrative contract position with a market leading financial services client in Maastricht, Netherlands.
The client is looking for an MS SQL DBA with several years of experience in designing, building and testing of Microsoft SQL environments. Knowledge of the latest technological developments and standards is a must. Think of MS SQL 2014, SQL Always On, Puppet, Cloud standards and guidelines regarding DBAAS services.
The SQL Server Database Administrator will IDEALLY HAVE 65%+ of the following skills and experience:
- Fluent English mandatory, Dutch speakers strongly preferred
- Advising/design architecture
- Implement architecture
- Advise functional Datamodelling
- Advise technical Datamodelling
- Implement data models (releases)
- Monitoring performance
- Tuning databases receivers for continuity/consistency of data
- Capacity Management
- Life Cycle Management
- Licensing, Security (baselines), Patching, Auditing
- Restructuring databases, Authorisation of users (roles)
- Scripting receivers for DBM management
- SQL mutations
- troubleshooting/Support Services Infra Structure
- Alternative (up procedures and providing the infrastructure)
- Advising on the purchase of hardware and software
- Performing database backups and restores, point-in-time recovery (DB2 and Progress)
- Knowledge on the level of Microsoft MCTS/MCITP DBA
- Knowledge of and experience with: Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS, Veritas, Business Intelligence, Performance and Tuning as well as thorough knowledge of Networking and Windows
- General knowledge of Scripting (PowerShell and VB Scripting)
- Strong experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator
