Senior Software Engineer- Major Defence Organisation - Warton 051268
Advantage Resourcing have a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Software Engineer to work with our client, a major Defence Organisation based in Warton. The role is offering an initial 6 month contract. The client is willing to pay £42.50p/hr on a LTD or Umbrella basis for a candidate who can offer the relevant skills they are seeking
Due to the sensitive nature of the role/industry, the client ideally requires a candidate with valid and current SC or DV Clearance.
The Role:
A Software Engineering position exists in the Typhoon Avionics Sub System Team, the role will cover problem investigations as well as the design, code and test of new/updated functionality to an existing design and target architecture. This task will include the use of enhanced methods and tools in developing/testing/maintaining the new and existing software.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following;
. Development of the Risk Class 1 - 3 Software using Ada/C
* Development of the Design using HOOD/Rhapsody.
* Requirements traceability using DOORS & Statemate.
* Unit testing with the use of AdaTEST/Vectorcast.
* E-ICD tool for review of ICD baselines.
* Symbology generation using QCG VAPS.
* SW/SW integration testing with the use of MaTE/TIGER.
* HW/SW integration testing with the use of MaTE TRCF/TIGER.
* Use of AdaMulti and GPS
* Script development using Perl/DCL/SQL.
Skills/Experience:
The candidate should have skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project and must possess excellent Ada skills.
The successful candidate will ideally have a degree, HND or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline. A good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle is essential and experience of Statemate within the Eurofighter Enhanced Process is desirable. The successful candidate must; be pro-active, diligent, and have good problem solving, team-working and communications skills.
