UI developer - JavaScript developer x5 - Central London - 12 month contract
Starting January & February 2017 - £475 - £600pd TBC
Who will you be working with?
A digital consultancy in Central London have just signed an exclusivity agreement with me for 2017. You will not have applied for this elsewhere.
As leaders in user experience, over the last 10 years they have transformed digital experience for industry leading companies globally. Whether large enterprise organisations or household brands, their agile process allows them to work collaboratively and iteratively design, test and deliver amazing new products.
The key to their success? The people in the company. In particular their energy, experience, devotion, knowledge, skill & attitude. There is a clear philosophy/set of values and everyone's in tune.
Blockers have been removed where possible and there's a maturing agile environment that encourages collaboration, giving developers the freedom to work together and create outstanding products. Quality is not just an objective, it's a necessity.
As the ui developer - JavaScript developer - where do you come in?
We need 5 senior ui developer/JavaScript developer contractors to start for an initial 12 months in Q1 next year. You'll work with the product owner & user experience/design team build a new platform from scratch. Top secret stuff for the moment, however all will be revealed in due course.
Architecture is still in late discussions but it will be modern, but more importantly fit for purpose and not just as it's the last fad.
All ui developer - JavaScript developer contractors will be senior contractors in a flat team. It's unlikely you will be the smartest developer in the room, and that will be a positive for you. They really care about code quality and hope that you do too. The team will grow fast which means more adaptable and proactive people will likely thrive. It will feel more like start up at the beginning. This doesn't mean long days and high pressure but does mean you'll need to roll your sleeves up and work as supportive team! Eventually there will be over 45 people working in smaller high performance scrum teams.
These are predominantly Front End positions, however if you have Node.JS skills they will likely be used.
We ARENT going to write a shopping list but people will likely have experience in a combination of the following areas:
- Vanilla JavaScript - OO JavaScript
- Functional JavaScript (Or an interest in if not commercial experience)
- ES2015 - ES6 - ES7
- CSS3 - SCSS - less - sass etc
- Modern build tools - Gulp - grunt - webpack - npm etc
- Data viz - D3 - d3.JS - d3js
- Node.JS
- TDD - Mocha, Chai, QUnit, Jasmine etc
- Modern frameworks & libraries - React - angular - Lodash - knockout
- Cross device/platform
- Mobile apps - Hybrid & mobile web ( cordova - react native etc )
- Redux and flux-like models
- Isomorphic applications
