Duration: 6 months
Position Summary:
- Client is seeking a well-rounded Senior Software Tester with demonstrated success creating and implementing test strategies for product initiatives in a fast paced environment. In addition to being skilled in analysis, candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of software test design, test execution, and software engineering practices. This is a hands-on technical position and candidates must demonstrate a high level of technical aptitude, some programming/Scripting ability, excellent problem-solving skills and the drive to succeed.
- The selected Senior Software Tester needs to possess a Testing Mindset and display an obvious passion for Testing. This should be evident in their natural curiosity and excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. This position will entail developing, executing and reporting on scripted and manual tests in addition to working closely with other on/offshore testers. Initially working on a Service Oriented Web project will require the ability to quickly learn Rule Based Logic/Functionality.
Duties:
- Participate as a Professional Tester on one or more teams
- Requirements (and/or User Story) detailing/analysis
- Test effort estimation
- Test strategy/approach development (including test techniques and non-functional test needs)
- Test project coordination
- Test resource coordination (on/off shore)
- Test environment coordination
- Define and document testing tasks
- Define automation requirements
- Test cases/steps development
- Test script development
- Test data identification
- Test execution (manual scripted, exploratory and test automation)
- Effective bug reporting/research/tracking
- Test results reporting
- Test coverage tracking
- Smoke test development, execution and maintenance - manual or automated
- Regression test development, execution and maintenance - manual or automated
Requirements:
- Experience with one or more formal software test techniques
- Analytical problem solving skills and passion for quality
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable with Agile and Waterfall Project Management methodologies
- Ability to call and validate responses from web services in one or more Scripting/coding languages
- Ability to read and perform modifications to Perl/JavaScripts/Scripts
- Ability to read and perform minor modifications to .NET and/or JAVA Code
- Ability to create non-trivial SQL Statements (SQL Server)
- Ability to read and perform modifications to XML/HTML
- Above average knowledge of Windows, Linux, Mobile Operation Systems
- Familiar with Enterprise Web Applications
- Knowledge of Test Automation
- Knowledge of Performance/Load Testing
- Awareness of Security Testing
Education:
- Computer Science or equivalent Bachelor's Degree
Required:
- Professional Testing (5+ years)
- Experienced TFS User
- Design or Development of Automated Test Scripts
- Advanced Programming Knowledge (c#, VB, C++, .net, Java)
