Go/Golang Developer - Long Term Contract, Amsterdam
You will be a GO (Golang) Developer with substantial experience in design, coding and testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant web applications or services for the Internet.
You must have experience of high availability, high transactional web based systems.
You must have experience of multi-threaded web systems processing 5,000 transactions per second.
You must have working knowledge of SQL, and relational databases.
Experience with any of the following is valuable - REST, XML, JSON, Linux, Elastic Search, JIRA, and Git.
Prefer experience with agile (SCRUM, XP, Kanban) development.
You will be working for one of the biggest E-commerce, online trading brands on the planet, on a long term contract basis, based in the iconic city of Amsterdam.
Our client already has 12 household brand names in its group and is embarking on one of the biggest centralization projects to develop a central communications team and hub of all their global brands on one technology platform.
Given the high technical ability being sought, we will consider applicants from none EU countries and visas will be organized for contract engagement. We will also consider any candidate looking for permanent employment with our client.
We are not looking for just code cutters. You will be out-going and engaging with great English speaking communication skills. You will have a thirst for problem solving and demonstrate a mindset to reason and challenge decisions, processes to improve or even simplify.
You will provide clarity around development, can reason about it with other senior members of the team, create a plan on how to implement it and make it happen. This is not a role for a standard developer. You will be solving real-world technical and scaling issues on a regular basis, and need to be thinking on the leading edge of product development.
You are an innovative thinker who can visualize and evangelize within the team about the strengths of your approach and carry your team members with you. Solving complex problems needs to be your passion and you will strive for simplicity and maintainability on all levels - not just in code. You can look at an existing codebase and always challenge how best to make things simpler.
You will know all the basics of great development practices, be a self-starter and make things happen. You'll have a strong understanding of the risk of your changes and can balance it against other constraints, understand the true costs and benefits of technologies you introduce.
