6 mo+ contract for a MF programmer with Accenture Customer/1 or Install/1 experience - this is required - please do not reply if you do not have this specific skill set.

The person filling this role will be responsible for providing application support for CIM, the client's customer system. CIM is an Accenture Customer/1 Mainframe application written in Enterprise Cobol/DB2.

This Application Support role includes:

- Providing production support of business applications, ensuring high availability
- Software program maintenance, including routine changes
- Resolving batch and on-line abends
- Development and execution of test plans, scripts, and procedures
- Providing input to approve proposed project plans, customizations, standards and procedures to ensure projects are aligned with Support requirements.

- Ensuring secure, efficient, and economic availability of applications and processing with adequate safeguards for both security and integrity.
- Following standard support procedures and use of ITSM tool (Remedy) to track work activity
- Providing development and support for assigned business applications or product families. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of application and system design. Expert in the use of Mainframe development tools and procedures. Deals with complex inter-system related issues.

- Plans and performs large complex individual assignments, or leads small projects (Mainframe experience in Cobol/DB2/CICS support or development
- Ability to write and modify SQL statements
- Thorough knowledge of application development life cycle, including programming experience
- Experience in supporting end users with use of technology and applications

- Experience in troubleshooting IT application problems in a support role
- Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of large systems and applications integration
- Must work and/or be on-call on a rotational schedule and as needed during non-business hours
- Works independently with very little direct supervision or review
- Strong oral and written communications skills. Willing and able to work directly with clients to define requirements for small enhancements and test changes.
- Strong team player that works well with others - Ability to meet customer expectations. Manages customer requests and communicates problems and resolutions to clients.
- Recognizes appropriate times to escalate issues and provide status updates

- Experience with Customer/1 applications
- Experience with Install/1
- Experience in supporting applications in the utility environment
- Ability to present information on technically complex subjects in an understandable manner in both oral and written form to business clients
- Displays maturity in approach and ability to effectively handle stress and frustration
- Demonstrates the ability to absorb change and continue with positive results
- Exhibits confidence and a proper level of assertiveness when needed.
