*Financial Management Accountant - up to £300/day - 2-3 month contract - London*

Security Clearance: Must already hold BPSS + DS clearance or be willing to undergo.

We have an exciting opportunity to join NHSE who are currently looking for a Financial Management Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will support the Director of Corporate Finance in ensuring accurate financial statements are prepared for the CSS. This role is in support of the overall development of a viable standalone business in the medium to long term, differentiating it from operational corporate management roles. This post holder will be a key financial contact for preparing reports and financial support, advice and guidance to the CSS, contributing to the organisation's strategy and financial forecast for spend, profit and lost.

Key tasks and deliverables:
*To create financial reports for CSS Management that are accurate, timely and within the remit of regulatory policy and industry guidelines
*To provide advice on financial recovery programmes undertaken on behalf of customers
*Monitor contracts and SLA's against planned targets, and propose new plans to mitigate for any variation in budgets
*Asses the ongoing financial risk to corporate spend, maintaining contact with customers and propose action plans as appropriate
*Proactively identify financial risks that may be involved in future strategy
*Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost saving and support their implementation.
*Provide highly complex advice and financial forecasting to those in the CSS, requiring the use of negotiation and planning skills
*Develop and deliver formal presentations
*Analysis of highly complex problems and data sets
*Responsible for policy development across the department
*Able to effectively lead and manage a team within a Matrix structure, where there are multiple points of accountability. The CSS will be a fluid and evolving environment and it is expected managers are able to cope with ambiguity, work collaboratively in cross functional teams and manage multi interfaces
*Contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and internal/external KPIs
*Contribute to the development and achievement of SLA's that the CSS holds with the CCGs
*The post holder is accountable as a senior manager for implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the work of their teams, and for ensuring their staff are trained in using SOPs.
*In addition, they are expected to champion the use of SOPs, include training in all induction programmes for new staff and development plans for existing staff, and contribute to the creation and maintenance of SOPs as required as part of the corporate SOP development process.

Essential skills and experience:
*CCAB or CIMA accreditation or equivalent level of experience
*Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience
*Significant experience of working in finance as a management accountant.
*Practical experience of the relationship between purchaser and provider
*Experience of using financial systems, word/excel
*Up to date knowledge of financial policy
*Strong NHS background
