Description

A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as an Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor for their offshore wind farm project. This is an 11 month freelance contract role to start from 1st February 2017 up until approx. 31st December 2017 with the possibility of extending further thereafter.
Hours or work: 9 hrs a day onshore and when offshore 12 hours a day 7 days a week shift pattern 2 weeks on duty followed by 2 off duty. The Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor should expect to work weekends when required. For onshore work the Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor will be based in Belgium, offshore work will be in the UK.
Responsibilities:
Onshore: 

  • Perform day-to-day supervision of electrical installations to ensure quality and progress.
  • To control that tests are carried out according to the requirements.
  • Ensure a safe work environment.

Offshore tasks:

  • The daily operation & maintenance of the offshore substation.
  • Coordinate of final electrical installation work.
  • To oversee and participate in commissioning activities.
  • Ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications of Candidate:
  • Minimum of 4 years experience HV/MV installation and commissioning.
  • General knowledge of electrical equipment and installation techniques.
  • Offshore Substation windfarm commissioning operations would be an advantage.
  • Must have full GWO certs.

Special Provision:
  • The Consultant must bring his/her own mobile telephone (iPhone 4S, 5C, 5S, 6 or 6+ or a Window phone 8.1 & PC with MS Office software.
  • The Consultant must have his/her own PPE equipment.
