Description
Sopra Sterias Chippenham based client require a Database Developer/Administrator for an initial 3 month contract.
The core responsibility will be to provide hands-on database development as part of a project team deploying a new Customer Information System, specifically working on the cleansing and migration of data from our existing systems onto a new SQL Server 2014 platform. A secondary part of the role is to provide database administration skills, particularly with high availability systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Extensive knowledge and experience applying data-cleansing and data-migration skills in a Microsoft environment (including MS SQL and MS Access).
- T-SQL/SQL development and maintenance.
- ETL
- Integration Services and Reporting Services (SSIS & SSRS)
- Excellent SQL Server database administration skills, particularly design and maintenance of high availability solutions but also covering security, tuning & optimisation, troubleshooting, migration and deployment
- Source control, deployments and issue tracking.
- Windows Server management.
- Exposure to applications produced within a Microsoft environment consisting of toolsets such as Visual Studio, C#, Access, .NET, PHP and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
