Description

Our client, an organisation within the Public Sector is looking for an experienced UX designer who will be responsible for ensuring that the interaction the organisation has with its customers and stakeholders is customer centric, insight driven and supports a coherent, consistent and compelling experience.

The User Experience Designer will be a key liaison point, working with other teams across the organisation, to translate user needs into practical business and technical designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to design, conduct and interpret user engagement and research activities.
  • Collaborate with business improvement, customer insight, technology, and operations teams to deliver customer focused services and experiences.
  • Identify, translate, communicate and help to prioritise customer needs and opportunities for excellence, contributing to the shaping of the customer experience driven strategy across the organisation.
  • Develop, translate and communicate UX principles, guidelines and best practice throughout the organisation to build knowledge and optimise UX design delivery.
  • Ensure the UX delivered is customer led, is validated with customers and operations, and is insight driven.
  • Support a coherent, consistent and compelling experience for service users, across the end to end customer journey.
  • Develop prototypes, storyboards and customer journeys to test UX designs, approaches and improvements
  • Manage usability, accessibility, and user acceptance testing for UX designs.

  • Improved customer engagement, including that with currently hard to reach groups, and increased satisfaction.
  • Reduced transaction times and better outcomes through optimised user interfaces.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in balancing exceptional delivery for customers, with the needs of the business.
  • Ability to embrace change, lead from the front and forward plan within a changing organisation.
  • A team player, with excellent collaboration and influencing skills, with experience working within a complex, ideally regulatory, organisation.
  • A solid understanding of the various UX design disciplines and the underlying theory in areas of interaction design, usability, psychology, visual and information design, human factors, etc.
  • An in-depth understanding of the full, end-to-end service design process and how different activities and deliverables inform each other, for example how research findings and strategy inform concept development and detailed design.
  • Ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations and experience design.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey ideas via strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation.
  • Experience of a variety of design tools and methodologies, with a broad understanding of technology landscape, including new and emerging technologies that will influence UX design.
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating user-centred design solutions.

The Reward

  • Contract duration: 3-6 months
  • Rate up to £500 per day
  • Starting in January
