Description

Our large, global Investments and Asset Management firm are looking for the services of a kdb+/Q Developer for an initial 12 month contract based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be working as part of a Market Making and Quoting team is part of the Institutional Securities Group Technology department, and will be assisting this team in building first class automated pricing, trading systems as well as corresponding analytics to a global client base.

The key responsibilities for this particular vacancy will include:
-Working on expansion within their data/analytics area
-Design of an adequate tick plant and associate access points/API for the various consumers (including; quants, back testing systems, to automated trading systems)
-Continuous improvement of the system ensuring stability, supportability and scale
-Design and consult on Q queries to achieve analytics objectives
-Partner with the automated trading platform developers and quants to deliver a commercial platform

In order to be successful candidates MUST demonstrate the following skills and experience:
-Strong experience in designing/building/maintaining kdb+ tick plants and relevant APIs
-Strong Q language understanding and ability to act as an SME to other tech developers in the team as well as Quants
-Exposure to Equity Trading business domain is highly advantageous to this particular role
-Understanding of Equity Derivatives Products, option pricing theory, and typical related market data types
-Exposure to Java Core would also be an advantage
