This is a 6+ month contract role

Prestigious Enterprise Company is currently seeking a Network Engineer. Candidate will responsible for network troubleshooting in large-scale IP environments and managing the resolution of network and application performance problems. Candidate also will be involved in the design and implementation of enterprise and data center wide solutions that align with data and voice network architecture and business models, for the purpose of achieving optimal solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Network troubleshooting in large-scale IP environments.
  • Investigate and isolate network and application performance problems, often in highly visible, customer-facing, production-impacting, high stressed issue remediation situations.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation.
  • Develop and maintain network standards and guidelines.
  • Manage network and security capacity planning and reporting.
  • Interact and consult with internal and external teams as needed on RFP or ROM requests.
  • Provide support for engineering design and implementation issues.
  • Consistently provide proven, formal mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Owner of high complexity assignments centered around datacenter performance and analytics.
  • Enhance the contribution of teammates through consultation, mentoring, training; and/or knowledge sharing.
  • Participate with various internal and external teams regarding network, security and telephony projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in advanced network troubleshooting in large-scale IP environments.
  • Experience in managing, monitoring and troubleshooting network and application performance problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • One of the following certifications preferred: CCNP,CCDP
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of relevant work experience managing IP Networks.
  • Fundamental understanding of:
  • Layer 2 switching (ie, spanning tree)
  • Layer 3 and 4 TCP/IP, UDP/IP and ICMP concepts
  • IP routing - RIP, EIGRP, OSPF
  • SPAN, RSPAN, Netflow, NBAR
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of HTTP, HTTPS, SSH
  • Familiarity with Client Server architecture as used in application and database implementation.
  • Familiarity with Checkpoint Firewalls, F5 load balancers, Bluecoat Proxy, MS Lync, MS O365 a definite plus.
