Oracle DBA (Oracle 9i/10g/11g, Oracle RAC)
Oracle DBA is required by Whitehall Resources on a 6 month initial contract to be based in Dublin. The successful candidate will have proven experience in Oracle 9i, 10g/11g/Oracle RAC on SUSE Linux, AIX, Solaris and Windows platforms. You will be expected to perform capacity planning, to include the allocation of system storage for now and future requirements. Create and execute scripts for database maintenance and provide guidelines for development and production tasks
The successful candidate will be required to -
Perform database tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance of the databases
Develop archival, backup and recovery strategy.
Plan, perform and monitor database backups.
Perform database recoveries.
Provide 24x7 on call production support.
Capable of supporting and implementing technology projects as the primary DBA
Key Skills:
Experience as an Oracle DBA (Oracle 9i, 10g/11g/Oracle RAC) on SUSE Linux, AIX, Solaris and Windows
Experience of Oracle Database upgrades/patching/migrations
Backup and recovery with RMAN
Data replication with Oracle data guard (Physical standby) and Oracle Goldengate
Oracle RAC installation, configuration, administration/backup recovery/performance troubleshooting
Oracle Database Upgrade, DB Migration, DB Clone, DB Refresh activities.
Database Design, Creation, Database Estimation/Sizing, Licensing.
Very good SQL and Shell Scripting knowledge with the ability to provide troubleshooting
OEM configuration and troubleshooting
Sound knowledge of Oracle RAC clusters, Dataguard, 10g/11/12cg Grid/Cloud control
EMC DD Boost and Data Protector with RMAN
Excellent in DB troubleshooting skills and Performance Tuning, AWR, ADDM
Good presentation skill to CXO level on RCA (Root Caused Analysis) findings.
