For our client in the R&D industry we are looking for an Ink tester/developer

Start: February

Duration: 4 months plus extension

Language: Dutch & English

Location: Venlo

The departments are, as part of the R&D organization, responsible for development of printing (imaging) processes and consumable materials (inks, toners, printheads) to be applied in innovative prints systems.

The UV gelling Technology Development Group is part of this department and responsible for developing new curing concepts and inks to provide the future roll to roll platforms with new technologies.

Within this team we are looking for an Ink Tester/Developer

The activities can be split in:

  • Ink engine testing Validation of new inks is performed on printer test engines. The candidate will be responsible for testing new inks on such a test engine. The candidate has to be assertive enough to pick up and forward questions/problems to colleagues of other disciplines within R&D. He or she has to be very persistent in detecting these problems and finding solutions.
  • Ink formulation in order to improve the quality Starting point is research based on information that is available in patents and journals. Next step is to make an inventory of the outcome of this research and validate the information in actual tests.
  • Candidate has studied and in-depth knowledge of material science.

    Candidate will be working in a (approximately 10 people) multidisciplinary team. Main stakeholders will be the project team, managers and R&D colleagues.

    Who are we looking for?

    For the ink testing part of the vacancy MSc background in material science (polymere chemistry is required. However the testing of the engines only requires a BSc background.

    Main requirement is in-depth knowledge of material science!

    Approximately 3 years of work experience in a comparable role

    To be successful the candidate is hands on, persistent, assertive, and a teamplayer

    Candidate has profound knowledge - verbal and written - of English the. Knowledge of Dutch is advantageous
