Description

My client who is a leading financial services company requires 8 File Transfer Developer to join their teams across London and other UK major cities on 6 month initial contracts.

The volume of information that needs to move internally and externally to stakeholders, corporate partners and regulators is truly staggering. Delivering this key capability is the responsibility of the File Transfer Team within the Group who look after the internal (Connect:Direct) and external (IBM Sterling File Transfer) technologies.

The teams are responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and administration across all the supported platforms (zSeries Mainframe, Unix, Windows, iSeries and Tandem), working with offshore partners as required.

If you have similar experience gained across these platforms then this core team would be keen to broaden your horizons with exposure to their file transfer systems and new technologies which are vital to their Banking operation.

My client is looking mostly for your depth and breadth of platform experience (ideally across zSeries Mainframe, Unix, Windows, iSeries and Tandem) and if you happen to already have knowledge of Connect:Direct and/or IBM Sterling File Transfer then this would be very desirable.

Experience

  • Experience and successful performance in a similar role within the industry

  • Experience of IBM Sterling File Transfer Products including: Sterling File Gateway, Sterling Secure Proxy, Sterling B2B Integrator and Sterling Control Centre
  • Preferred experience with other file transfer tools including FTP/SFTP and Axway Secure Transport
  • Working knowledge of TSO/ISPF, JCL, IBM Utilities is preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant technology and a broad understanding of related technologies and their application within a business environment.
  • Service Delivery background with previous experience of production/live implementations and the industry governance around this.
  • Ability to understand and influence high level technical design of Middleware components

Desired

  • Experience working for clients in Banking & Financial Services.
  • Working knowledge of the Service Management toolset and general principals associated with Incident, Problem and Change (AXIS)
  • Experience of Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Project.
  • Experience of managing small projects or ad-hoc work requests particularly in terms of requirements gathering.
