Long-term contract:

BI team specializes in Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and MDX. The Sr. Developer will play key role in developing and maintaining our BI capabilities. This role requires a broad range of skills and the ability to step in to different roles depending on the size and scope of the project; its primary day-to-day responsibility is to design, implement and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server SSIS to support cube, reports and dashboards

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing and optimizing complex SQL stored procedures to meet data management and data integration objectives.
  • Designing, developing and maintaining ETL processes that transform data and populates data warehouse and SSAS Cube.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation that describes ETL solutions.
  • Proactively identifying problems/issues concerning data accuracy, data integrity and relevance.
  • Providing ongoing ETL process maintenance support through SQL query tuning and other optimization mechanism.
  • Work effectively with the project team to identify, estimate, prioritize and resolve issues
  • Develops business oriented data dictionaries.
  • Provide data input during an engagement that will impact scope and delivery
  • Provide input into the technical architecture and the data warehouse technology stack, as well as establish and follow through on data modelling and ETL standards

Job Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of relational database theory, principles and best practices.
  • Proficient in SQL relational database modelling.
  • Highly proficient in T-SQL script development using stored procedures, views, user defined functions etc.
  • Strong understanding of ETL concepts, architecture and data warehouse development methodologies and best practices.
  • Solid experience in ETL package design, development, troubleshooting and performance tuning using SQL Server SSIS 2008 R2 or later version
  • Strong ability to analyze data and identify data quality issues.
  • Solid ability in understanding and interpreting Microsoft SQL Server execution plan to facilitate performance turning tasks.
  • Good understanding of Kimball Dimensional Design methodology, and experience in Multidimensional Data mart modelling using the methodology.
  • Experience in designing cubes that handle large volumes of data and meet complex business needs is a plus.
  • Experience in cube aggregation design, bridge tables design, ragged hierarchies, partitions and security design is a plus.
  • Experience in using SSIS 2012 Project Deployment Model
  • Proficient with data modelling concepts
  • Experience with dimensional and 3NF modelling
  • Experience with OLTP and OLAP
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Good to Have

  • Understanding of NoSQL platform
  • Experience in data mining using R and Python
  • Understand of Big Data platform (Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR, HDInsight)
  • Experience in data modelling concepts
