Description
I am currently recruiting for a Microsoft Systems Engineer to work for a big European organisation to work in the heart of Brussels, Belgium.As a Microsoft System Engineer focusing on Microsoft technologies like Biztalk, SharePoint, Internet Information Server, MS SQL, Team Foundations Server, and Microsoft clustering The Service provider will supply added value in implementing, administering and maintaining Microsoft Solutions based on these technologies.
The service provider will work in the "Office Databases & Applications", which is now composed of 10 persons. It is expected that she/he is flexible enough to temporary take over the tasks of another person if needed (as is always required in a small team).
The service provider will be responsible for Windows-Servers which host the applications and databases of the Council.
The role:
SharePoint 2010 and 2013 to include also Workflow Manager, Office Web Apps, and integration with SQL Reporting, SharePoint and Provider hosted apps
- SQL 2008 and SQL 2012 to include Database Engine, Analysis Services, Integration
- IIS Websites for Intranet, Extranet and Internet
- Team Foundation Servers (TFS)
- MS Cluster Services
- Implement a smooth transitioning from Test to Staging and Production
Migration of all databases from SQL 2008 to SQL 2012
- Create an inventory of the current SQL 2008 databases and the applications in which they are used
- Make a migration plan with timings (envisaged end-date , where the total migration is finished)
- Perform the effective migration with the developers and testing with end-users
- Plan, test and perform the migration of service applications and web applications from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013
- Change the configuration of SharePoint based on user requests
- Plan, perform and verify backup
- Manage SharePoint objects via GUI and PowerShell
