Cyber Security Research Engineer - Gloucester - Permanent - £25,000/£55,000

* Successful candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo the highest level of UK security clearance.*

Our client has secured several new big long term contracts within a highly profiled sector - They are keen to grow their developing Research team with a number of key additional members.

The multiple opportunities will range across different levels from graduate to 1-3 years of commercial experience upto individuals with 10+ years experience. Our client is happy to speak with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds. The key is to be able to show a passion and desire within the vulnerability research world, you're probably someone who spends their free time keeping up to date with the latest technologies or experimenting on the weekends.

So this opportunity is for individuals who are either currently in a similar role who are looking for a new more exciting environment or individuals who have experience within another software field and looking for an opportunity to work within this heavily growing sector.

Areas of knowledge (but not limited to)

*BSc or BEng (2.1) or above in Computer Science or related discipline
*Understanding of various Scripting languages
*Understanding of cryptography and cryptographic systems
*An understanding of Agile Software Development
*Proven analytical and systematic approach to resolving issues in a complex and demanding environment.
*Commitment to an ethos of superior service and the ability to work effectively whilst under pressure.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills in order to meet the needs of a wide range of external and internal service clients
*Able to develop effective working relationships with our customers and partners.
*Ability to work without supervision to organise, prioritise, delegate and complete multiple tasks on an ongoing basis.
*Commitment to working as a member of a team which responds flexibly to changing pressures and demands.

Desired criteria;

Experience in the following:
oInterest in computer security and learning new technologies
oReverse engineering (IDA Pro, FRIDA, dnspy)
oSoftware development (C, C++, C#)
oNetwork security (scapy, Wireshark, Burp, Metasploit)
oEmbedded system development (RTOS, hardware interfaces, assembly)
oTesting practices (automated, TDD, unit tests)
oEngineering practices
oUK Government working practices
