Sybase Database Administrator
A leading financial services firm based in New York are looking for a Sybase DBA to join their team to provide performance tuning and troubleshooting support for different business areas. The day-to-day responsibilities are to install, maintain and tune Sybase Database. The DBA should be capable of working independently as well as operating in a team environment, with a willingness to follow pre-defined IT policies to satisfy our clients. Ability to understand clients needs and suggest solutions and help the clients meet their deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrable experience as a Database Consultant/Administrator working in a fast paced, dynamic environment;
- Support/Experience of following RDBMS - MS SQL Server, SAP (Sybase) ASE, SAP (Sybase) IQ, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL
- Demonstrable experience of driving Database strategy for an organization of similar scale and complexity
- Demonstrable knowledge and use of Reporting and Integration services across SQL Platforms
- Demonstrable Experience of working with highly available databases
- Demonstrable Experience designing, architecting database solutions
- Demonstrable Experience of using Nagios monitoring for SQL infrastructure
- Demonstrable Ability to provide integrations for Finance based applications - SAP, Oracle, Great Plains, Salesforce
- Knowledge of Linux would be an advantage;
- Experience in maintaining database systems in enterprise class data center environments.
