Magento / PHP / Jsp / MySqlWe're recruiting for a permanent Magento Developer to work in-house on our commercial sites and to play a central role in a small team creating a series of new sites. We are based in modern offices in Colliers Wood, London (SW19), close to the Northern Line tube station.
What's the deal?
This role is ideal for a confident developer with 3+ years Magento experience, possibly from an agency who is looking to move client-side and gain end-to-end experience of running e-commerce sites. Likewise, it would suit an independent Magento expert who wishes to be part of a strong team and progress.
You will be working in-house, in a small team of intelligent, skilled developers, creating brand new large scale Magento commercial sites for my clients website, extending them,and integrating them with other systems. The team currently primarily develops in other technologies including JSP, and this role is a key part of the company's commitment to begin developing sites in Magento. In particular you will be responsible for imparting specialist PHP and Magento knowledge to the other developers as they learn and improve their skills. You will also be responsible for researching and suggesting Magento themes and extensions to use.
You have an excellent all round knowledge of Magento, having used it on previous e-commerce sites. 3+ years' experience with Magento covering both front and back end development. Full understanding of the Magento themes and templating systems from both a web developer and server developer point of view.Totally confident developing new Magento integrations and custom extensions, and able to identify quality community extensions.You already have some experience with Magento 2 and are keen to use the latest Magento & PHP technologies.You can be a knowledge base, answering queries and assisting others developing in Magento and PHP. You have several years PHP development experience, Object Oriented PHP coding ability is a plus.
You have an interest in and awareness of general best practices in software development. You have an appropriate education degree or equivalent.Being Magento or Zend certified is a benefit. In addition to Magento & PHP, you must be totally confident with MySQL, HTML, JavaScript and CSS and have significant experience using them. You must be able to write and performance optimize SQL queries for MySQL. You have solid experience with responsive design and a strong knowledge of front end web development practices. Understanding of Linux server environments is a bonus. As a client-side role, you will be able to see websites right through from conception to use by our customers and gain valuable experience of running commercial sites. You will be expected to take ownership of significant features and drive them from development to production. You will need to be enthusiastic and keen to dig into issues when they occur, and to research solutions and learn new skills to fix problems. As you will be working in a team you must have good communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be working in collaboration with our new dedicated in-house graphic designer.
Your salary will be up to 40k depending on relevant experience. Is this you?
