Description
Synthetics Environments Engineer required to act as simulation engineer across a number of programmes.
The contract is initially for 12 months (on-going thereafter). Competitive hourly rates offered by the department.
Typical activities will include:
-Interfacing and communicating with stakeholders to understand their needs.
-Understanding software and simulation development requirements, and planning/estimating the necessary tasks to meet those requirements.
-Design/implementation/configure/deployment of Simulation software components in one or more of the following languages: Java; C++; C#; Scripting (VBS); Web development technologies.
-Conduct software component integration and test activities, and generating appropriate evidence of compliance.
The successful candidate will have the below skills:
-Good communication and team working skills.
-A broad "Hands on" experience of software technologies, languages and frameworks/tools - including simulation technologies (eg VBS; VR Forces; DIS/HLA).
-The ability to understand and analyse complex simulation software systems, and to communicate this clearly to stakeholders.
-Software and hardware integration experience, including scenario and/or script driven system level test for requirement verification.
-Experience of Configuration Management and control tools and processes (ideally Git/Redmine).
Candidates must be SC Cleared or willing to undergo the security vetting procedure.
