Description

OPS Engineer

For one of our Devops teams we are looking for a OPS engineer. As an IT OPS Engineer you and 8 other enthusiastic professional colleagues will work together in a DevOps team in Leeuwarden (The Netherlands).

This department is responsible for the development and maintenance of all applications with regard to document composition, digital communication, print management, scanning/data capture and archiving. We are working with state of the art software packages.

As part of a development team you will have a crucial role in managing high volume communication. You will be responsible for developing and supporting applications/tools with 24/7 availability. You will contribute to the team's strategy of rolling upgrades and maintaining performance, availability, monitoring, security and Continuous Delivery pipeline. Together with other Ops and Dev Engineers in your team you will work according to the Scrum methodology.

Your main tasks will be

Software management, optimizing monitoring processes (eg Logstash, TIBCO Hawk, Kibana) and implementing patches/releases of the Message Center software in two-week sprints. The software is developed with TIBCO Business Works and uses TIBCO EMS technology. The development team is also responsible for the Communication Center. Knowledge of Java, Tomcat, Oracle DB and Frontend platforms like AngularJS and Polymer is therefore highly appreciated. As an OPS engineer you play an active role to manage the risks adequately. You actively participate in the Scrum process and in Continuous Delivery Engineering Practices. You will play a positive role with your DevOps team growing the experience and knowledge within your team.

Requirements

- Completed a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical IT study

- Content Leader on TIBCO Business Works and TIBCO EMS;

- Experience with Tomcat, Oracle;

- Experience with Logstash, Kibana and Graphite;

- Working according to the Agile/Scrum method as well as with the DevOps method and ITIL

- Linux environments such as Red Hat;

- Continuous Delivery tooling; eg Nolio, Jenkins, GIT.

- Fluent in English (both spoken and in writing) and are able to follow conversations in Dutch.

- Working in a high volume environment is a pré;

- Knowledge of Java and AngularJS/Polymer is a pré;

- Flexible

- Willing to work in standby shifts outside regular office hours
