Description

Quant Developer, Analytics Library Front End, Webapp GUI, Javascript, Angular,Node.js, Python, Java, C#

A unique opportunity exists for an exceptional Front End developer to join the Quant/IT function within a large Asset Management business. This Greenfield initiative is redefining the Analytics library platform and the choreographing of Metadata to create the future state of how analytics are delivered to multiple divisions of this large international company. You will ideally possess strong Server Side development skills as well as expertise in design and build of webapp GUI. You will need a solid appreciation of IT architecture from the low level to the end user computing.

So far the Back End has been stripped back and recoded, making for a clean and lean system with great levels of abstraction, which will ultimately replace a number of old systems. They now need to apply expertise to get the interface right to create the ability to interrogate what's behind the interface. You will need solid knowledge of JavaScript and related frameworks (Angular, Node.js) and Java. Also HTML and CSS.

You will have solid experience of working with Traders, Structurers, Quants and IT developers of all levels. You will have gained experienced in a fast paced Front Office business environment and have an understanding of Pricing (Bonds and Options), Market Risk and P&L attribution. You will likely have strong academics with major strength in mathematics and computer science.

They are looking for someone who is highly adaptable, and will bring something new to the team; the client doesn't wish to be too prescriptive on the technical skills.

However these are the areas of most interest:

Development Technologies

Python

Web development stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript ecosystem, Java

Web services (REST, XMLRPC, JSONRPC, etc)

C#

Databases (SQL/NoSQL)

Environments

Linux

Cloud computing (CloudFoundry, AWS, Azure)

Experience with data analysis and smart analytics/business intelligence and machine learning will all be of interest. Most importantly you will need to be passionate and interested in the kind of problems that will need solving in this unique and cutting edge challenge.
