Proteus Europe is searching for a Senior Java Dev Engineer for a 2 month+ contract role based in Brussels, Belgium.
Our Client:
Our client is, as the first universal direct bank, a strong player on the Belgian market. The bank provides its customers with a wide range of financial products and services via the distribution channel of their choice (click and face). Our clients customers are based in retail as well as private banking clients, as well as small, medium and large enterprises.
Your New role:
In order to strengthen its development team that delivers complex mission-critical software solutions for the One Digital Backbone space, our client is looking for an experienced Java engineer who is ready to work on the latest technologies.
As a Senior Java Dev engineer you will be part of a technical BusDevOps team within the One Digital Backbone track that works on the creation and management of top-quality software every day. Our client works in a BusDevOps manner, where the Scrum/Agile methodology and Continuous integration/Continuous Delivery practices are very important. As a Java Software Engineer you will be working on the Back End applications.
You will work with the team that builds the core of the One Digital Backbone solution providing new digital channels. They mainly use the following technologies and frameworks: Java 8, Apache Ignite/GridGain, Spring, Kafka, Cassandra, Jenkins, Maven and Nolio.
Your Skills and experience:
Essential Skills:
- You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Information Technology or equivalent
- You have at least 10 year experience as Java software Engineer, Apache Ignite/GridGain experience is a plus
- You have worked with Java 8
- You have worked with distributed systems and are comfortable with distributed architectures, pattern and frameworks
- You have experience in working in Agile Dev/Ops teams
- You have are at ease in a complex and multicultural environment
- You enjoy creating innovative solutions using the latest technologies
- You are a team player and communicate well
- You are transparent and you are not shy to defend your point of view
- You are comfortable in taking design decisions and coaching more junior engineers
